Familiarising our children with the Holy Quran – Idea 11: Inspire them with these videos
- This is awesome! Ducks swim towards the person reciting the Quran! One to watch with the kids 🙂 As Towards Jannah put it, even the ducks act upon this ayat: “So when the Qur’an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy” (Suratul A’raf: 204)
- The soothing effects of the Quran:
- Wow wow wow. If the Quran has such a positive effect on random strangers, imagine the effect on believers, who read it with meaning?!
- Definitely one to show your children – especially the mathematically inclined!
- And here’s one about the arrangement of the Quran:
- An 18th Century copy of the Quran:
- Have you heard the oldest recording of recitation the Holy Quran in the world? A Dutch Orientalist recorded it in Mecca in 1885 using a new machine Edison made, which used wax cylinders. Subhanallah!
- Learning the Quran in sign language:
- This Ted talk is making its round again…Lesley Hazleton on reading the Quran. Am sharing here in case it’s of any interest to any teenagers or university students who may be facing questions or accusations about certain verses in the Quran that are deemed ‘controversial’ – she explains them really beautifully!
- Perhaps you have older kids/teens who are struggling? Or perhaps it is us as parents who are struggling with the fact that our children are not learning it as well as we would like? Or perhaps it is ourselves who are finding the reading/learning of the Quran difficult…
