As it is Imam Jaffer Sadiq’s wafat today, I thought this might be a good opportunity to share an amazing resource that’s out there – useful for both parents and teachers alike.
You know how we’re always looking for craft activities to go with certain lessons/days like today? And we usually have to end up making them from scratch? Well, no more! Here is a website that is compiling activities that amazing creative people have thought of and carried out, which gives step-by-step instructions, downloadable templates and photographs of what the finished product should look like. Their aim is to have a one-stop shop where people around the world both contribute their ideas and utilise other people’s ideas, making learning fun and educational for our children, while hassle-free for us.
For today’s wafat, I found this: http://www.madressa.net/arts-and-crafts/personalities/ahlul-bayt/198-make-a-zarih. Make the 6th Imam’s Zarih with your children and use that opportunity to discuss the hadith that you choose to decorate the Zarih with, and also a little about his great life.
P.S. Do you have any other ideas for a craft activity? Do share on this post! I also know that the Creative Resources are looking for more contributions so please e-mail your activities through to firstname.lastname@example.org. The more people that contribute, the bigger the database to choose activities from!
