Her mother did not know what the sport was called, but she turned to face Ibtihaj and said; I do not know what that is but you are doing it. This Woman Is Breaking Barriers for Hijab-Wearing Girls in Sports
Running:
As seen on FB: “Well done Azreen Nabila Alias. Not just for improving your personal best but also for breaking a long-held ridiculous myth that less cloth “reduces air drag” and “improves performance”. (A strange fallacy that’s only prevalent in women’s sports.) As much as clothes don’t define sportspeople, neither does religious belief. Despite being “fully covered”, she still outran her physically-superior competitors trying to fit into the sports clothing fallacy. Syabas Azreen and keep standing up for your beliefs. While flying our flag high.”
