I love this! As we all know, Islam and our daily lives are not separate entities…and even if our children go to secular schools, there is no reason we should separate the two. Here is a lovely example of incorporating Islamic wisdom into school… FZ (our lovely young contributor in the past) is back!
Here is what her mum had to say: “FZ recently had the opportunity to do a Spring Project for school by observing and researching a bird she’d spotted over the Spring Break. Sh…e created a pop-up book on starlings that we spotted at Camden Market. It was a great learning experience for the both of us and a good opportunity to explore and reflect upon how and why Allah has described birds in the Qur’an as a beautiful sign of His awesomeness. We learnt that all animals pray to Allah in their own ways and even do Tasbih.
We also learnt that animals have their own communities just as we do. Furthermore, we studied Imam Ali’s (as) Sermon in Nahjul Balagha on birds once again being a wondrous sign of Allah.”
