How about making and selling desserts for charity, like Sakinah?
This can be done from home and by order; alternatively, many centres hold a dessert sale, and it is an ideal time to get the kids involved! I know many kids start helping out with the baking from a young age, and who doesn’t like going crazy with some icing?!
That’s what Abbasali Hemraj did last year: “We had dessert stalls on one of the nights. I made jelly cups and mandazi for him to sell.”
In the normal dessert sales (adult run), why not have a section for the kiddos? Allow them to organise, price, cook and sell? A great way to instill lots of life skills at the same time 🙂
